Shipping Policy | The Urban Architect

We ship worldwide. This Shipping Policy explains our carriers, processing and delivery times, costs, and how we handle damaged or refused shipments.
Carriers
We ship via the following carriers:
- PostNL and MyParcel for orders within the Netherlands and the European Union
- DHL Express for orders outside the European Union
Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays start their journey the next working day.
Processing time
Orders are typically dispatched within a few working days of order confirmation. The estimated dispatch time is shown on the product page and at checkout. For made-to-order items or larger quantities, dispatch time may be longer and will be communicated by email after your order is placed.
Shipping cost
Shipping rates are calculated automatically at checkout, based on the weight of your order and the destination. We do not currently offer free shipping.
Estimated delivery time
Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout. They depend on your destination and the selected carrier. These times are estimates provided by the carriers. While delays are uncommon, they can occur due to circumstances outside our control (weather, customs, carrier disruptions). We cannot accept liability for delays caused by carrier estimates.
Tracking
All orders are shipped with track & trace. You will receive a shipping confirmation by email with your tracking number as soon as your order is on its way.
Damaged or missing shipments
We pack carefully to protect your order in transit. If your package arrives damaged or is missing on delivery, please contact us at info@theurbanarchitect.com as soon as possible.
Claims must be made within 7 days of the delivery date (or expected delivery date, if the package never arrives). Please include:
- Your order number
- Photos of the damaged item and packaging, where applicable
- A description of the issue
We will work with you and the carrier to resolve the issue quickly, including repair, replacement, or refund where appropriate.
Taxes, customs, and duties
The Urban Architect is based in the Netherlands.
Within the EU: orders include VAT. No additional customs duties apply.
Outside the EU: orders may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and handling fees imposed by the destination country. These are calculated by the carrier or local customs authority and are the responsibility of the recipient. We recommend checking with your local customs office for the most current information before placing an international order.
Refused international shipments
International shipments that are returned to us because the recipient refused to pay customs duties or refused delivery are subject to a handling fee of €40 per item. This fee covers the return shipping costs and processing. The fee will be deducted from any refund issued.
Address accuracy
Please make sure the delivery address you provide at checkout is complete and correct. If a shipment is returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address, the cost of reshipment is the Client's responsibility.
